ABOUT
Hello Beautiful,
We are so happy you found us! If you’re feeling overwhelmed, if you have lost hope or interest in trying things that are not working, tired of searching for answers to why you’re not feeling at your 100%, or know inside of you that you can elevate the way your body feels… YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE! We take the time to know you, investigate how your body is working, and understand your needs, in order to design a plan that improves and optimizes your health. I have always been interested in all the ways women’s bodies change throughout our lifetime, how they function and how they break. This curiosity has led me through a path of discovery and acquired knowledge that now allows me to deeply understand how women’s bodies work, their relationship with mind, spirit and external world, as well as how to help it fix itself. I have worked in women’s health for over 15 years using research and both conventional and functional medicine approaches. I promise to always treat you with love and respect, to serve you and help you optimize your overall wellness for you to live life to your fullest potential!
Love,
Laura

Functional and Integrative Gynecology merges conventional, western medicine with functional medicine and holistic approaches to health and wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors to personalize treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes. Lifestyle changes, specific dietary plans, supplements, elimination of environmental toxins or pathogens and other alternative medicine therapies are used to heal specific conditions, balance hormones, optimize overall functioning and more.
- Why do we need functional medicine and functional gynecology?
1. Our current policies, food and drug industries, changes to our environment, increasing stress levels and sedentary lifestyles have led to an increase in the number of people with complex, chronic illnesses including diabetes, heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders and more. This increase is also reflected on more women developing endometriosis, menstrual irregularities, hormonal imbalances, PCOS, infertility, rheumatoid arthritis to name a few.
2. Conventional medicine is focused on how to fix something quickly. This works when it is an acute problem like trauma or short term infection where surgery or medication is absolutely needed. However, it is not the best approach to chronic conditions.
3. The quick fix approach lacks the proper techniques, knowledge and tools to manage long-term illness. It often ignores the complex web of interactions between genetics, environmental toxins, diet and lifestyle habits that influence an individual’s function and development of illness.
- Who is this for?
- Functional medicine is for those individuals who are interested in finding the root cause of the symptoms. Having a diagnosis may just be the beginning of the search for the cause rather than the end goal to provide medication to block those symptoms. Finding the root cause allows us to go upstream and make changes to heal and improve all the symptoms downstream.
- Functional gynecology focuses on finding the root cause and healing specific issues that affect women including hormonal imbalance, period irregularity, infertility, pelvic pain, vaginal issues, weight gain, skin changes and other inflammatory conditions. It also looks at preventing conditions from developing and optimizing health and longevity.
- This approach involves motivated individuals who are willing to be guided and ready to make the necessary changes to optimize their health and wellbeing.
